My favourite restaurant is Bottega Louie in DTLA. It is a French bakery and Italian restaurant all in one, with a glorious little champagne bar to boot. I have never had a bad meal or bad service there. It is consistently excellent and the special edition baked goods they release around the holidays are unbelievable. They don't take reservations but the wait is never long. The portobello mushroom fries and the pizza are to die for and it's a nice change from the "expected" LA to come DT.
